"Blast Off to Learning!" Space themed FUN-draiser.
Building rockets, creating starry skies, constructing other space related decorations.
Margie is standing proud next to her rocket! Way to go!! Constructed the tube out of posterboard, stapled together, wrapped in foil, taped and stapled. Top of rocket is posterboard wrapped in butcher paper. We ended up using a total of 8 1/2 pieces of poster for this rocket. Kim is working hard on the rocket tubes, stapled black posterboard stuffed with tissue paper taped around. She was laughing at Margie posing with her rocket!
Here are our rockets with our mascot "Gary" the gecko. Constructed out of posterboard, wrapped in foil, paper towel rolls wrapped in foil taped and stuffed with tissue paper. Top and wings are posterboard wrapped in butcher paper. Black circles cut out of butcher paper and glued on.
Here is our midnight blue paper that we sprayed spots of spray adhesive and stuck foil stars cut out using a pattern. Be careful because your hands will get very messy! Remove stickiness with baby oil and nail polish remover. Scrub scrub!!
Whoops, Gary's space helmet looks like a wig! I fixed it, and wrapped him in more foil. I'll post updated pics as we make more progress.
The rocket looks great! They added detail and hung stars around. We will hang a space themed drop cloth behind the rocket.
More space fun as we get closer to our fundraiser date :)
